Why I built this

After 18 years in sectional title and estate management, I've seen this industry from every angle — the schemes that run smoothly, and the ones that unravel because nobody was watching the legal and relational detail that the role actually demands.

I'm at a stage now where I have no interest in starting a managing agency, or taking on management myself. But I've watched a pattern repeat often enough that I couldn't ignore it: trustees and directors, confident and capable, deciding they know enough to manage their scheme themselves — sometimes terminating a managing agent to do it — only to discover the hard way how much this business actually holds beneath the surface. In more than a few cases, the results for the entity were serious.

This isn't an argument against self-management. Plenty of self-managed schemes run well, and plenty of trustees genuinely want to be more hands-on. What was missing wasn't ambition — it was a legitimate, structured guideline to follow. So I built the one I wish had existed.
